I was supposed to race a half marathon on Saturday, but (unsurprisingly) it was canceled; we decided that maybe we'd go skiing today instead - we have weekday passes at the local resort and it rained here, snowed there all day Friday - but our governor closed all the ski resorts for at least a week, just in time for Spring Break. I made "chaiscream" this morning, i.e. chai ice cream, which is B's favorite of the ice creams I make. (I like it a lot, too.) It's a combination of this SimplyRecipes recipe and the Ben and Jerry's sweet cream base; I prefer using whole eggs to all egg yolks because I think it improves the texture and makes the ice cream less likely to freeze ( Read more... )
